Dan J. Comrie
President
Accountable for all aspects of the organization, Dan is a seasoned business executive with more than 30 years of experience in various aspects of the health care industry, with a concentration in managed care. Prior to joining Physicians Health Choice, Dan served as Vice President & CFO at PacifiCare Health Systems and founded the Holy Cross Medical Group in south Florida. Furthermore, he held a Senior Management position at KPMG- one of the largest tax, audit and advisory firms in the world. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Dan also holds a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
Robert S. Grossman, MD
Chief Medical Officer
Providing oversight of Utilization, Quality and Pharmacy Management, Dr. Grossman is an accomplished Internal Medicine physician with over 12 years experience in the managed care industry. Before joining Physicians Health Choice, Grossman served as Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director for various health plans such as Health Net of the Northeast, Health Guard and Kaiser Health Plan. Early in his career, he acted as the Chairman of the Department of Medicine for a community teaching hospital, was a practicing physician, and Clinic Director, rounding out his experience. Additionally, he has authored numerous professional publications.
Donna L. Debner
Vice President, Customer Service
Ensuring exceptional service is provided to Physicians Health Choice members, Debner directs the Customer Service Call Center and provides support to members from the time of enrollment throughout their membership with the plan. In addition to offering a full range of services, the Customer Service team performs outreach activities to educate members on accessing and utilizing their health plan benefits. Donna has over 25 years experience in the health care industry, including the management of a private medical practice and leadership roles at PacifiCare Health Systems/SecureHorizons with an immersion in Customer Service. Donna received her BA from St. Mary’s University (San Antonio, TX) and MBA from Texas State University (San Marcos).
Jeff White
Vice President, Marketing & Development
Responsible for implementing a sales and marketing strategy across the enterprise, White has over 16 years of leadership experience working with hospital systems and managed care organizations. Managing a team of 40 marketing and sales staff-members, Jeff provides oversight of each Medicare Advantage sales cycle and annual advertising campaigns. Preceding his career in health care, he was a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Internal Auditor for Ernst & Young, one of the largest tax, audit and professional services firms in the world. Jeff received his BBA in Accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Tamara Schumacher-Konick
Vice President, Sales
Leading the organization's sales force across seven markets and four states, Schumacher-Konick has over 20 years tenure as a leader in managed care. Nearly 15 of those years were spent directing the Texas and Oklahoma sales department for PacifiCare/SecureHorizons; including the integration of another health plan and managing the marketing, telemarketing, market research and system lead management for commercial and Medicare product sales for that region. A subject matter expert in sales and marketing to a mature audience, Tamara has also lent her expertise consulting for a leadership development firm to revitalize and implement new strategies. Additionally, Tamara has held executive-level positions at healthcare companies such as Bronson Healthcare System in Michigan, and Gevity and Health Net in Dallas, Texas, all resulting in substantial growth and retention. Tamara received her BS in Psychology from Oklahoma State University and earned a MHR in Organizational Development from the University of Oklahoma.
Steven Morgan
Vice President, Market Operations
Carrying out the task of building provider networks that are invested in the Physicians Health Choice model of care, Morgan’s team executes the strategies intended to attract and retain quality providers that meet the needs of our members. Steve is a practiced executive that has lent his expertise to the State of New Mexico, University of New Mexico Hospital & Clinics, Lovelace Healthcare Systems, Cigna and FirstCare Health Plans. In addition to being a Search and Rescue Pilot, he is a registered lobbyist with the New Mexico State Legislature, a Rotary Club member and a Fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives. Steve received his BA from New Mexico Highlands University and earned an MPA from the University of New Mexico.
Laura Ketterman
Compliance Officer
Providing regulatory oversight to the plans' State and federal operations, Laura is responsible for the creation, implementation and regular monitoring of the Physicians Health Choice and Citrus Health Care Compliance Program in accordance with the Office of Inspector General (OIG) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) requirements as well as the Texas Department of Insurance, the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation and the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration. She was a Licensed Vocational Nurse for 15 years prior to attending law school and opening her own law practice. She received her BA from University of Houston - Clear Lake and Juris Doctor (JD) from St. Mary's School of Law (San Antonio, TX).
